so here we are....hood rich. we recorded 7 songs, currently being mastered. we will release them as a 7 inch. Bobby leaves for school shortly, we have one show left with him before his departure...tonight @ the basement..in my history of playing shows at the basement/the forum, they have always been lack luster, sans the first my safe haven show w/ slugworth and life in your way there about 4 years ago...that being said.
tonight is our last show as "Hood Rich" the name is going..it will be replaced with something more fitting. over the past year and a half, we've been mistaken as rascist band, a thug core band and a band of violent tough guys...all of wich we aren't. our last show apparently was one of the better performances we have had....its all a blur to me..i quit our last show during No Time..i quit because of the insane amount of obnoxious violence and stupidity that occoured during our set. i don't want to be around that..
however this band is too much fun to quit.
tonight is our last show of the summer, when we play again it will be with bobby and hopefully it will be with our recording for sale and it will be with a new name...same songs for the most part...new name..new bassist.

July 2nd
So i decided to book my first show this past Wednesday. The cali band Lewd Acts was on tour and i wanted to get em a show in NY. I was able to get a sweet lineup of locals, and with some trouble with venues, i secured a basement at my friends house. UTD opened-these kids got it, they may be young but the kill it. HV SCUM played 2nd, one of the best shows they ever played, they said so themselves. DEAD CHANNELS played third, AMAZING!!!! It was there first show, and i was blown away. We played fourth, and it was amazing to be back in Dutchess County, we havent played in our "home town area" in a while, and all our homies showed out. SIGNS OF HOPE from CONN. played after us, and they killed it, good luck on tour dudes. LEWD ACTS played last, and i must say, those dudes are amazing. Ever since i saw them last summer, i've been hooked. They like to play loud and party hard, so i had a blast. Over all the turnout was good, real good (better than i expected) and everyone had a fuckin great time.
thanks to all the kids who came out, and made my night amazing.
THANKS!!!!

so today i go back into the studio to finish up the recording process...sean paul has done wonders, we are finally going to have a legit recording to represent us. its been a year of fun since our inception as a band. from our first show where i almost got arrested, to getting banned from crannel on our second....

once the album is finished today sean paul will mix it and he is referring us to john of nada studios to master it, john who is most known for his work with bigger poppier bands...he also recorded slugworth and the banner's first e.p. very excited to hear the finished product..

after its mastered, it will be pressed....and we will be putting together a cd release show, hopefully sometime near the end of july if not sooner.

so far i can say this, it's heavy, angry & fast. 7 tracks. 7 of our best to date.
including my favorite::Failure.
we've never played it out before, we've been sitting on it and it has finally taken shape lyrically and musically.
anyway.
it's better to burn out than to fade away.

looking forward to finally have a recording that represent us and what we've become as a band. its alot diffrent from what we started out as, 10 second songs have turned into full songs with hooks and beats...so to speak.
as much as i look foward to recording and the summer, i don't want bobby to leave the band and not just because we practice at his place, drink his soda and read his magazines/borrow his movies...i mean it took a few months to get him to use a pick!...but..i hate change, but he's gettin his learn on up in plattsburgh. this is more of a reson why i want this recording to be all it can.
we have a replacement in the works.
and it turns out we're headlining the show on july 19th in poughkeepsie w/ forefit.
please come out.
we also have a total d.i.y. show with lewd acts two weeks before that...you'd be dumb not to be there. hopefully we can find a venue for a jump the shark/hood rich show on the 10th of july...they are coming through with buddies...
fuck it.
